Battery welders for portable welding

The demand for battery welders has risen exponentially in recent years. The need for a portable, lightweight welding machine that is capable of welding without a direct electrical power supply is all too common. Maintenance applications, repair welding, on-site welding, installation works & many more jobs call for a battery welding machine.

Until recently a battery powered welder was not available on the UK market. However, of late a few different brands have released their offerings to much applause from the industry.

We have tried and tested a few offerings, including the Fronius AccuPocket & Lorch Micor 180, and have found, what we believe to be, the best value for money battery welder to offer to our valuable customers.

The SIP HG1800CBW, whilst not an industry leading welding manufacturer, offers great bang for your buck! It is capable of MMA welding as well as DC lift TIG welding which makes the machine capable of welding both thin and thick materials.

It is able to burn 20 2.5MM rods at 85 amps, 14 3.2MM rods at 115A or 6 4MM rods at 160A from a single charge, this means that 99% of jobs can be welded without the need to return to base for charging. After the battery is empty, it takes just 1.5 hours to charge back to full.

The battery packs is a lithium-ion type battery which charges from a 230V outlet. The battery pack completetly eliminates the requirement for a generator.

Overall, the machine weighs just 13KG; making it perfect for carrying around on-site and in hard to reach areas. The machines small dimensions and low weight make it the ideal solution for portable welding applications.
