Reciprocating Saw Blades
Reciprocating Saw Blades for Wood and Metal
What is a reciprocating saw blade?
To answer that question we must first know what a reciprocating saw is. A reciprocating saw is a power tool that is commonly used in demolition work. It is a great fail safe to have on hand when other conventional demolition tools, such as prybars, crowbar or lump hammers, are not able to be used.
A recip saw, which they are otherwise known as, uses a toothed blade that is pulled in a backwards and forwards motion to cut through material.
Reciprocating saws can be used to cut wood, metal, plastic & many other materials. This is the reason they are often referred to as a "sawzall", referring to the trade name that Milwaukke Power Tools first gave to their reciprocating saw.
Recip saw blades are available with various different amounts of teeth per inch. The more teeth per inch the blade has the faster the saw blade will cut, they also produce smoother cuts when there are more teeth on the blade; i.e. a 6 TPI blade will cut slower than a 14 TPI blade.
Common TPI's include 6, 10, 14, 14-18, 18 & 24. In addition to this, they are supplied in a range of sizes to fit various sizes of saws. For instance, our most popular recip saw blades for metal cutting are 150MM x 19MM x 0.9MM & 225MM x 19MM x 0.9MM; our most popular saw blades for demolition purposes are 150MM x 22MM x 1.6MM & 225MM x 22MM x 1.6MM.
